Internet copyright infringement / trademark infringement

Many of our clients operate high profile brands on internet and so often become involved in internet disputes, especially third party trademark infringement and copyright infringement cases.

Examples of such internet intellectual property infringements include misuse of clients' trademarks in metatitle, metadescription and metatags to attract search engines, misuse of trademarks as sponsored keywords or in ad text in Google Adwords, Yahoo and MSN, registration of domain names which include client trademarks (see domain name disputes) and internet copyright issues such as breach of copyright in the source code, appearance or content of their websites.

We have procedures in place to deal with such internet copyright infringements and trademark infringements rapidly and efficiently.

Preserving evidence and unmasking internet IP infringers are important parts of the procedure. We use a range of measures designed to make life difficult from infringers including action to remove website hosting / Paypal facilities.

We also file complaints with Google, Yahoo and MSN and other search engines in order to secure bans on infringers using trademarks in their ads.

We operate a network of international lawyers to help place added pressure on infringers where they are located outside the UK.
